This is a very special teapot which works beautifully to brew gyokuro.
Its walls are quite thick, which means that the pot will maintain a warm temperature longer. It also means that you should warm it up well before brewing; otherwise, the temperature of your water will drop noticeably.
The geometry of this pot means that you can use a high ratio of leaf to water. When you are brewing some crazy, umami rich kabuse or gyokuro, this yields stunning results.
The ceramic filter is quite fine, which allows you to brew tea with very very small particles too.
